Servo motors have been around since the 19th century, and there’s no sign of a replacement for the basic concept. So what big news could there be on the demand for servo motors?
According to Transparency Market Research, the demand for servo motors generally is expected to increase most strongly in the Asia-Pacific region, where tough environmental regulations are pushing industry to seek out more energy-efficient solutions. Since servos are high performance and highly efficient, they fill the bill.
At the same time, servo motors require little or no maintenance, making them a cost-effective option.
The new report also projects that European and North American markets for servo motors will grow, but they’ll do so more slowly. The reason? Manufacturing is more established in these regions, so they’re still using the older models of servo motors and aren’t pushing to replace them.
However, as the demand for energy efficiency hits the west, more factories will upgrade to the newer, more energy-efficient models.
