Rexroth Expansion in North Carolina

Bosch Rexroth will invest 58 million in an expanded facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. They will develop additional solutions in linear motion and assembly technologies. The facility will grow to 227,500 square feet, a 25% increase with space for future development. They currently employ 326 people and they plan to hire another 24.

Rexroth has been active in Charlotte for 30 years. They are an important part of work and education there, having donated $600,000 to support STEM and robotics education in the Charlotte metro area. They have also worked with local colleges to develop apprenticeship programs.

Rexroth explains that they have outgrown their current facility, and they are excited that the growth in their business is giving them the opportunity to recommit to Charlotte.

Factory of the future

They are also excited to be building a new factory. Geert van der Zalm, vice president of sales for factory automation in North America, said, “It is not often that a company gets to build its factory environment from scratch, and we are in the unique position to do just that, while creating a showcase environment of what a factory of the future can be today.”

The new facility will include production space, office spaces, and training facilities, but it will also have community spaces, coworking spaces, nature walks and green spaces outdoors, and what the company describes as “a flexible galleria.”
