Bosch Rexroth, a global leader in motion and control technologies, has announced the opening of its new plant in Querétaro, Mexico.
The new plant will help the company to better serve its customers in Mexico and Latin America, but is primarily expected to ship to the United States and Canada. Bosch Rexroth currently has about 2,200 workers in the U.S. and Canada combined, and Rexroth hopes that beefing up the Mexican division will improve delivery in North America in general.
A $215 million investment
The plant will also create new jobs in the region. Bosch Rexroth currently employs about 170 people in Mexico. When the new plant opens next year, they hope to have closer to 900 local workers. The company is spending $215 million to increase production in North America.
The plan is to have fewer transatlantic shipments. The new plant will cover about 452,000 sq. ft. and will work with the current factories in Mexico, the U.S., and Canada to streamline the supply chain throughout North America.
There are also facilities in Aguascalientes and Nuevo Leon.
