Rexroth produces awesome motion control systems — the best on the planet, in our opinion. Many of our clients call us when they have an issue with a component that has been in service since before they were born.
Typically, our caller is still brushing sparks out of his mustache and the floor manager is shouting in the background. “It says ‘Rexroth’ on it,” the caller explains.
They’ve called the right place. We can often diagnose the problem over the phone with just a few questions. At this point, the sensible caller is all set. We’ll see to factory repair for the faulty module, and we’ll get an emergency replacement unit out as fast as they need it — we know that downtime is costly.
That’s the good outcome.
Sometimes, we don’t get the good outcome right away. Maybe there’s a policy that requires three bids for any expenditure over $82.75. Maybe there’s a HIPPO decision making system — the decision is made according to the HIghest Paid Person’s Opinion, and that person hasn’t been through the process before. Sometimes it’s more nuanced that that.
Anyway, we get off the phone with the caller and we know they’ll be calling back. First they’ll do one or all of these things:
- Buy a component from eBay or Craiglist, which is always a gamble.
- Call their local electronics repair shop, where nobody has experience with Rexroth components or access to original parts.
- Track down a Rexroth representative and listen to a sales pitch, which leads to multiple meetings and uncertainty.
Meanwhile, your facility is shut down or just crippled, bleeding money every minute. The costs rack up quickly, totaling up to much more than the cost of repairing your component right in the first place.
And that’s before you even think about the consequences of upsetting your schedule or disappointing your customers.
Instead, call us immediately at 479-422-0390 and let us assist you with factory repair. Your part will return to you in like-new condition, often with a new warranty.
