Rexroth CEO Gregory Gumbs Stepping Down

Bosch Rexroth has announced that Gregory Gumbs will step down from his current position as president and CEO of the North America region on July 1. No replacement has yet been chosen. Reinhard Schaefer, a current Executive Board Member, will take the helm as interim and lead the search for a new CEO.

“I have great respect for the leadership team, our associates and channel partners across North America,” Gumbs said in a statement. “I am very confident in the strategy and in our talented team which will ensure continued success and positive outcomes for our customers and the business,” he stated. “It has truly been an honor and privilege for me to serve and lead this team.”

He worked at Rockwell as an application engineer and then in sales and management. He went on to  positions in sales and management at Eaton Corporation until joining Bosch Rexroth in 2020.

Gumbs is known for his forward-thinking approach. As he explained in an interview with his alma mater, “At Bosch and Bosch-Rexroth we are taking a ‘digital first’ approach to everything we do from back-end processes, utilizing real-time dashboards to monitor performance, deployment of leading Bosch developed I4.0 practices, and offering our customers digitally enabled products and intelligent solutions and services.”

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Gumbs lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
