The Century Club

Industry Week is great about bringing us news of manufacturers who have been in business for a century or more. These are the titans of industry, the companies that have stood tall for over a hundred years, weathering economic storms, technological revolutions, and the ever-changing tides of human history. Here are some from their most recent list:

And then there’s Rexroth

Staying in business for a century is surely an accomplishment, and keeping on keeping on since 1848 stands out, but Rexroth has them all beat.

In 1795, Georg Ludwig Rexroth established a water-powered forge for iron production in the Spessart mountains of Germany. This event marks the founding of what is now Bosch Rexroth, making it one of the oldest technology companies globally.

The company initially focused on producing iron hammers.  and evolved over time, building an iron foundry and eventually entering the hydraulics market in the 1950s. This thrust was paired with electronic drive and control capacity when Rexroth acquired Indramat in the 20th century.

In 2001, Rexroth merged with Mannesmann Rexroth AG and the Automation Technology Business Unit of Robert Bosch GmbH to form Bosch Rexroth AG. This marked the beginning of the current iteration of the company under the Bosch Group.

For 229 years, Rexroth has helped working people accomplish their jobs. Rexroth still does this today. When your Rexroth electric industrial motion control systems need service or support, you should call us first.
