The Rexroth HDD Drive

hdd-rexroth

We’re specialists in legacy Rexroth electric motion control systems. We have to admit that some modules are more special than others. One of the most special is the Indramat HDD drive, a servo drive that handles two motors from a single space-saving chassis. Otherwise, it’s essentially the same as the more common HDS drive.

Space saving is key here; this handy item was developed for companies with limited cabinet space. It allows you to control twice as many motors in the same floor space. It cost more than buying two HDS drives, but there are times when space means more than money. For example, when adding space would cost you a lot of money.

This is therefore the motion control equivalent of the all in one printer/scanner/copier or the TV/DVD. If your scanner goes out, you have to replace the whole thing, not just the scanner. If your DVD player breaks, you have to replace the TV as well — or cobble together something with a DVD player that doesn’t fit the space you allocated for the TV/DVD player.

Just so, if one of the drives quits, you have to replace the whole HDD drive.

Fortunately, Rexroth continues to support the HDD drive. You can have a factory repair unit, which means a new unitrepaired to factory specs with original parts. A third-party repair won’t use new original parts, because Rexroth doesn’t sell parts to third party shops.

You can also have a remanufactured module with a new warranty.

Either of these options minimizes downtime. In fact, we have emergency replacement unites which will allow you to keep your facility up and running throughout the repair time. Speaking of those times when time means more than money, because that time will cost you a lot of money.
